Enthalpy has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right individual to fill the role of Construction Inspector.
If selected, you will be involved with major civil works that save lives and property for the communities and citizens that rely on the work you will oversee. We are seeking highly qualified construction inspectors for for upcoming levee upgrades throughout the the southwestern states. Working as part of the engineering team, you will oversee the physical work performed by the contractor to ensure that stringent specifications and construction practices are employed and executed to the highest standards.
Your dedication to ensuring safe work practices, formal education, extensive field experience and project acumen will all come into play on this high visibility, earthworks project.
In order to qualify for consideration, you must meet the following:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or geological engineering from an ABET accredited program (www.abet.org)
Must be registered through a United States' board of engineering as a civil engineer, geotechnical engineer, geological engineer, or construction engineer.
Must have a minimum of four (4) years experience in construction management, field inspection, or construction supervision of civil works projects (earthworks, roads, highways, utilities, infrastructure, levees, etc.).
The successful candidate must also have:
Two (2) years experience in earthwork inspection. Please note that mass excavation does not meet earthwork construction/inspection experience requirements. For this position the term earthwork is defined as the precise placement of engineered soils to meet detailed requirements.
One (1) year experience with Federal Government Contract inspection. Past experience on unrelated scope for federal projects does not imply acceptance of a person's qualifications.
You must possess knowledge and experience in ASTM, and other miscellaneous construction testing requirements, as well as knowledge in construction inspection procedures, and inspections methodologies, including the use of nuclear gauges, and construction safety.
You will be required to have advanced verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Part of this requirement is the ability to interact effectively with the construction Contractor management personnel and crew.
It is also imperative that as the position, you possess the ability to work collaboratively with others, including utilities, state, local, and federal agencies, the COR, and the FEM.
You must be able to demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making skills.
You must be fully competent in taking meeting minutes and shall be able to thoroughly document the key elements of a meeting with minimal corrections and must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
