Zachry Group is currently accepting applications for Architect I to work in our Engineering Design Centers. The candidate should enjoy working in the industrial sector of Architect.
Candidate is responsible for completing project specific objectives, on time, under direction of our Sr. Design Architect. Perform architectural duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, ensuring that they are scheduled and built in accordance with the plans and specifications.
•Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a dual degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture.
•Will work on planning, designing, specification writing, preparation of bid packages, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, and systems.
•Consider construction costs, government regulations, energy efficiency, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in planning stages and risk analysis.
•Must know codes including but not limited to building codes, Americans with Disabilities Standards, International Energy Conservation Code, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and UL Fire Resistance Directory to detail fire rated assemblies compatible with the types of construction.
•Collaborates with Zachry’s procurement group providing lists of bid breakdown components, evaluating bids, answering RFI’s, and making changes required as the design evolves.
•Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations.
•Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
•Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.
•Directs drafting personnel in the proper execution of drawings for architectural systems to which assigned. Examines architectural drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy as peer reviewer. Checks manufacturers’ prints and coordinates between these and Zachry Engineering drawings.
•Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the architectural field. Is technically knowledgeable in specific areas of responsibility to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel, both within the Company and for the customer.
•Travel may be required to other Design Centers and to Job Sites.
•If not already licensed, the candidate will work towards satisfying the requirements of the Intern Development Training and begin in their preparation of their NCARB IDP record to achieve his ARE (Architectural Registration by Examination).
•Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a dual degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture.
