Enthalpy Energy Services, LLC is seeking highly experienced Power Plant Operators to provide LOTO clearance administration for our client. The LOTO Coordinator position is a long-term contract opportunity.
We are looking for individuals that have previous Power Plant Shift Supervisor, Control Room Operator and Sr. Level Auxiliary Operators with large, multi-unit coal fired power plant experience. Duties include working as part of the Operations Department and administering the clients Clearance Procedure which will include coordination of unit operations to ensure continued unit operations. Coordinators with extensive power plant operations experience may be requested to fill open shifts as a unit operator, scrubber operator or coal yard as needed. Primary duties of the LOTO Coordinators require:
Shutting down equipment
Isolation from its energy source(s)
Preventing the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.
The LOTO Coordinator will interact with the Maintenance teams at each facility and report to the Clearance Team Manager.
The LOTO Coordinator will utilize P&IDs, Electrical and other process drawings to identify the energy sources for the assets to be locked and tagged out, access the process areas of the facility to locate the assets, gather appropriate information for tagging out the asset and generate the lockout / tagout procedure, boundaries for isolation of all hazardous energy sources for that asset using the client’s Clearance Management Software (Red Tag Pro).
Work with Operations to execute the Clearance Procedure using the client’s Clearance Management Software (Red Tag Pro).
Perform QA/Safety verifications of other Coordinators clearances prior to activating clearance for sign on by employees.
Work on rotating shifts (Dupont Schedule).
GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Identify lockout points by visually identifying electrical, pneumatic, and other energy supplies.
Identify lockout points using the equipment manuals
Identify lockout points using power distribution panel drawings and legend
Identify lockout / tagout procedures for project equipment and systems
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to follow direction and company safety policies.
Candidate must be physically able to perform the following essential functions as part of the LOTO work:
Capable of lifting, turning valves, gates, dampers, etc.
Must be able to climb equipment, ladders and steep stairs.
Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting.
Must be fully capable to reach and/or work above and below the shoulder.
Routinely work in an operating power plant, coal yard, WFGS and other areas which may be near hazardous equipment and machinery.
Occasional exposure to fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
Power Plant Operations and Maintenance Experience and/or
Refinery Operations and Maintenance Experience
Prior authorized employee experienced in administering OSHA compliant hazardous energy isolation procedures.
Coal Fired Power Plant Operations
Shift Supervisor Experience
Commissioning & Startup Experience
Current EMT Certifications (an additional hourly compensation allowance is available for this certification & competency).
