Responsible for the engineering, design, and construction oversight of oil & gas pipeline projects. This position will take direction from the Lead Engineer, but is also expected to function under minimal supervision. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing detailed engineering, infrastructure design, design review, construction support, and as-built documentation review under technical direction.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
Perform preliminary and final design for underground structures used in gas utility infrastructure.
Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish design to meet client standards and specifications.
Prepare construction cost estimates, RFIs and change orders.
Gather information and prepares technical specifications.
Responsible for drawing package submittals for the client (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC) and coordinate with design team to ensure submittal meets client’s standards.
Assist in preparing project budgets and schedules.
Interface with the client’s personnel.
Prepare bid documents for materials, engineered equipment, and construction within specific discipline.
Responsible for preparation of material requisitions, bids, vendor drawing reviews to determine compliance with specifications.
Requires high level of knowledge and experience working with pipeline design codes and safety requirements including ASME B31.4 & B31.8 as well as 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195
Generate professional plans and specifications, technical calculations, exhibits and reports for Trenchless Installation Methods such as Horizontal Directional Drilling
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
•1 to 5 years of experience in preparation of Construction Documents (Plans, Specifications and Estimates).
•Must be authorized to work in U.S.
•Utility experience is a plus
•Experience with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, CAESAR II and MicroStation is desired
•Has a foundational understanding of oil and natural gas systems
•Stays up-to-date on industry changes and developments, including regulatory requirements and federal mandates
•Must be able to communicate clearly and work in a multidiscipline, team environment.
•Strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and solve problems are essential
•Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe Writer.
•Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.
•Requires high level of knowledge and experience working with pipeline design codes and safety requirements including ASME B31.4 & B31.8 as well as 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195
