Position Summary: Steam Valve Engineer.
Project: USA & Canada.
Start date: Between February and March 2020.
Duration: 4 Months.
Reports to: Outage Manager / ST mech Lead.
The purpose of this position is to deliver the project KPI’s for Delivery, Quality, Safety, Cost and Customer Satisfaction through the Check Out, to the general maintenance of large gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and associated equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Review/generate piping related calculations and evaluation of material options in specifying piping designs Perform conceptual designs, studies, reports and proposals.
Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and modernization on Siemens, Parsons, Westinghouse and Allis Chalmers turbine generator fleet.
Plans, coordinates or prepares piping and valve specifications and/or material requisitions, bid evaluations, award recommendations.
Preparation and administration of multiple project material requisitions for piping and valve commodities.
Reviews and checks work of other piping and valve engineers. Perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews.
Assist, prepare & maintain material procedures, standards and guides that provide project direction and coordination between Procurement, Construction and Fabrication Shops.
Coordinates work with other piping and valve engineers.
Candidate must have a good understanding of all work processes involved within the Plant Design discipline.
Candidate should have experience with ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards Position Requirements.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
B. S. in Engineering or equivalent Technical degree.
Minimum of 6 years experience.
6 or more years' solid performance with last two in top half of Engr 2 band.
Professional Engineer Registration.
Advanced technical degree or related coursework.
Possesses specialty skills and performs advanced tasks independently with minimal supervisory review.
Performs engineering tasks independently and actively imparts knowledge to others.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.
