Position Summary: Generator Engineer.
Project: USA & Canada.
Start date: Between February and March 2020.
Duration: 4 Months.
Reports to: Outage Manager.
The purpose of this position is to deliver the project KPI’s for Delivery, Quality, Safety, Cost and Customer Satisfaction through the Check Out, to the general maintenance of large gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and associated equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a Generator Field Service Engineer.
Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and modernization on Siemens, Parsons, Westinghouse and Allis Chalmers turbine generator fleet.
Perform diagnostic testing (low voltage, high voltage and mechanical), unit evaluation and recommendations.
Work with teams of technicians, field service engineers and craft labor personnel in the installation, repair maintenance and troubleshooting of generators at various customer sites.
Coordinate staffing for project teams at customer sites including review and execution of customer contract requirements. Responsible to provide generator and generator interface knowledge and expertise to division management, customer management, product line management and suppliers.
Prepare and forward accurate reports concerning the condition and repairs and recommendations for customer equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field required
8 – 10 years of experience in field service
Must have working knowledge of large electrical apparatus including but not limited to generator inspection, testing, generator rewinds and repairs
