The SCG BCR Project is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Inspector to be onsite fulltime during the construction and commissioning of a new compressor plant located in Blythe California. The typical project schedule consists of working 50 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Below are the some of the roles and responsibilities for the assignment as well as general requirements


Role & RESPONSIBILITIES

•Reports directly to the SCG Project QA/QC Manager
•Works with Construction and Commissioning as required.
•Inspects material upon arrival, prior to installation and during construction for compliance with the specifications, drawings and submittals prior to turnover
•Ensures care and preservation are being performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations
•Ensures the construction is performed in accordance with the IFC drawings, Gas Standards and applicable codes and permits
•Works with Field Engineer and QA/QC for RFI’s and CN’s
•Observes and reports on the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site
•Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QA/QC Manager non-conformances reports.
•Checks cable laying and cable identification.
•Monitors the all relevant testing and point to point checks.
•Verifies the accuracy of updates as built drawings.
•Creates necessary punch-lists and monitors for completeness
•Observes the checks on items such as power transformers, switchboard, UPS & battery, lighting systems, switch gear, etc.
•Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for proper connection.
•Verifies tests of continuity, insulation resistance.
•Verifies calibrations for instruments.
•Checks installation of instruments.
•Verifies installation and routing of pneumatic and electrical pipe and conduit connections.
•Observes fiber optic cable installations and connections.
•Verify special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications as necessary.
•Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
•Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls and inspections, manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections.
•Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.

REQUIREMENTS


•Previous construction experience within the oil and gas industry preferred
•Previous exposure to high/medium voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives
•Familiar with Instrument calibrations including flow meters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role
•A working knowledge of codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work
•Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work
•Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations such as Title 8
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package.
•Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage
•Ability to work full time at the Project Site
