Project Description: Client project is a natural gas fueled, 1,124-megawatt combined-cycle generating facility. Siemens-supplied power island hardware includes: x3 SGT6-5000F(6.1) gas turbines, x1 SST6-5000 steam turbine, x3 SGen6-1000A air-cooled generators, x1 hydrogen-cooled SGen6-2000H generator, x3 NEM DrumPlus heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and the SPPA-T3000 control system. Site staff includes an Operations team working a rotating DuPont schedule as well as a Maintenance team working day shift.

Positions Duties: Provide technical oversight for Client's Fall Outage Combustion Turbine workscope. Workscope to include but not limited to: Combustor Inspection, Rapid Compressor Cylinder Removal, Variable Guide Vane (VGV) mitigation package, and Row 2 turbine vane and ring segment inspection. Provide daily progress, issues and actions reports to site management.
In order to meet the desired project/outage objectives for cost, schedule, quality, craft health and safety, and environmental compliance, the Outage Manager will provide oversight of services provided by plant personnel, contractors and equipment manufacturer representatives.
The Outage Manager will also contribute to the post outage lessons learned / best practices meeting via daily reported observations.
Assist site management with ensuring effective resource utilization through activity identification, applying resource loading to the schedule activities, and analyzing effects to schedule and cost.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with plant personnel, and suppliers of materials/services which interface with assigned projects to promote a cooperative teaming relationship.
Provide project status in a timely manner to all appropriate parties to ensure excellent communication between the project team and others.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and of 10+ years experience managing/leading Siemens SGT6-5000F maintenance. To include all periodic maintenance evolutions including CI, RCCR, HGPI, and Major Inspections
Registered Professional Engineer
Knowledge of Siemens SGT6-5000F disassembly/reassembly techniques.
Experience in interfacing with contract craft personnel and equipment manufacturer field representatives.
Working knowledge of combined cycle power plant operations, work processes, RCM diagnostic tools/techniques, and personnel.
Working knowledge of safety, health, and environmental requirements in combined cycle power plants.
Experience with directing multiple large projects concurrently.
Experience with critical path schedules and working knowledge of scheduling software.
Experience with detailed cost tracking, cost projections, and budgeting.
Experience with detailed planning, scheduling, work order development, and other work process controls.
Fall outage 31 days in duration and Outage Manager will be required to work extended hours 7 days per week in support of the outage.
Outage Manager may be required to perform crawl-through inspections of combustion turbines.
Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone over 2 hours a day.
Routine bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and/or reaching to access job-related materials.
