Maintain working knowledge of the ERDF and IDF waste acceptance criteria and the waste acceptance process.
Ensure Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility (ERDF) waste acceptance requirements are implemented
through the project level procedures.
Interpret waste management, treatment, and transportation regulations.
Assist waste generators in the compliant management of waste including mixed low-level waste (MLLW), low-level waste (LLW), hazardous, dangerous, recyclable, and non-regulated.
Perform data collection to assist in the development of acceptable knowledge for waste management
characterization and designation.
Perform chemical designations and radioactive waste determinations.
Interpret laboratory analysis.
Prepare waste profiles and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs)
Review various Project documents (data quality objectives (DQOs), sampling and analysis plans (SAPs) etc.) and provide comments as requested.
Perform waste information data entry.
NUMBER OF OPENINGS 1
BA/BS degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience in waste management
Minimum 10 years’ experience in RCRA/CERCLA and Department of Energy (DOE) radioactive waste management/operations/designation
Minimum five (5) years’ experience with Washington State and Federal environmental regulations (WAC, RCRA, CERCLA, and TSCA), waste management, and radiochemistry
Minimum five (5) years’ experience, with minimum 2 years within the previous 5 years, working with Hanford mixed waste low-level disposal facility WAC, SWAC, and waste designation, profiling, and acceptance procedures
Minimum five (5) years’ experience working the Hanford Waste Management Information System (WMIS)
