Job Title: PCS7 Engineer
Type: Contract to direct hire
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Pay Rate: $50-55/hour
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 20% though expected travel is less than 10%

SUMMARY:

As a PCS7 Engineer you will assist the assembly and design team in all phases of the manufacturing of electrical controls from proposals, design, engineering, assembly, testing, and commissioning. You will be responsible for verifying safety and reliability items are addressed, verifying that designed logic is consistent with the control narrative flowcharts, and verifying that all testing is performed properly and quality documentation is completed. You will support PCS7 remotely but will also assist with S7 and PCS7 projects on site at the testing facility in Alpharetta, GA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PCS7 Remote Support
• Work directly with customers to resolve PCS7 administration issues
• Perform PCS7 remote inspections and create customer reports
• Support engineering in resolving customer process issues
• Update Footprints database with new customer information
• Collaborate with bid management and service manager groups to define PCS7 contracts
• Learn the T3000 system for support in the future

Testing
• Review designed logic
• Notify manufacturing if any defects are found during testing
• Work with Testing Lead to create and modify testing documentation
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customers
• Travel to site to perform walkdowns, installations, commissioning, and service
• Learn HMI and control systems
• Perform initial setup of hardware and its power up, testing of application software and its hardware, protection testing including software and hardware
• Perform simulated test of application software to validate process flow and integrity
• Prepare final test reports and share lessons learned with the team


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s degree in related engineering field or 10 years of professional engineering experience
• Experience with PCS7, Siemens TIA Portal, S7, and WinCC is required
• Rotating equipment knowledge is required
• Experience with Profibus and Profiet, Modbus (or other serial communications), and OPC is required
• General understanding of gas turbines and compressor processes is preferred
• In-depth understanding of pressure switches and transmitters, control valves, flukes, motor control circuits, and AC and DC LVDT
