[QA Inspector] API Inspector

System One is looking for an API inspector in southwestern PA.

 Summary of Position:

The API Inspector is responsible for performing inspection of fixed equipment and piping, in addition to providing functional expertise related to Mechanical Integrity (MI). With emphasis on quality deliverables and the efficiency of the work flow process. Candidate will help establish efficient and effective MI inspection programs by managing and or performing physical inspection and testing of components, documenting inspection deliverables in a timely manner, and submitting recommendations to resolve action items or deficiencies identified during inspections.

The API Inspector will report to a site manager who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development. The API Inspector will work directly with clients on technical aspects of the projects and therefore must be able to communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities/Job Functions:

Safety First; all safety procedures will be completely understood and followed.
Personnel must be able to present themselves in a professional manner to the project manager and customers at all levels.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information, orally and in writing, in a timely manner.
Become proficient at following System One procedures in accordance with customer specifications.
Have the ability to collaborate with the project manager to organize, prioritize, and execute a heavy work load.
Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards and recommended practices (API, NB-23, ASME, etc.) is preferred
Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements of System One, and Client programs.
Periodically audit and evaluate examiners used for External Visual or Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) examinations.
Recommend additional Non Destructive Examination (NDE)
Provide oversight, interpretation, auditing and approval of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) performed by others.
Provide timely feedback of inspection results
Shall be responsible for ensuring that all repairs or alterations, of fixed equipment, and piping, including the application of relevant NDE, are in accordance with the applicable industry codes and jurisdictional requirements.
Learn and abide by all System One policies and procedures.
Completes all required training, including tests, within System One guidelines.
Have a basic understanding of all the industries System One services and the types of inspection and testing supplied by System One.
Maintain time-sheets and submit as required.
 Required Experience/Education:                                                                                                                                            

At a minimum a high school diploma, GED, or College Certification is required.
Five or more years of experience in fixed equipment and piping inspection


Required Certifications:

All safety training in accordance with System One safety Manuel.
Current API-510, 570, and 653 certifications required

All personnel must have valid drivers' license.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America, TWIC card is preferred.
Must pass drug and background check.

 Physical Demands and Work Conditions                                                                                                                                           

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift and carry lightweight to heavyweight objects and use basic power and hand tools.
Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft and working in confined spaces can be a routine part of some projects.
Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.
The job is generally within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within variety fabrication, construction and operating plants. The environmental conditions can be indoor, outdoors, hot, cold, dirty, dusty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
