Possess the demonstrated ability to perform moderately complex quantitative analysis with the ability to gather, document, analyze and draw conclusions on data and information. Responsible for developing strategies that support business need for efficient and effective use of best practices. Identify requirements, approach, solutions, costs, risks and options to address business needs. Lead implementation activities of an initiative, application or feature set. Responsible for project documentation including definition, requirements, conversion, testing, implementation and training. Able to priorities initiatives by assessing business value for effort and develop options. Collaborates with vendor to understand product direction, release strategy, and timeframe. Maintain a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures and products.
Areas of Responsibilities
Position/role works cross functionally with multiple internal SCE groups (individual contributors and management) such as Accounts Payable, Supply Management, Legal, other OUís such as Customer Service, T&D, etc. and Grid Services teams
Key role in responding to and addressing the 2020 Circuit Audit observations and recommendations
Key role in resource scheduling/management between internal and carrier resources in support of Capital projects and incident response
Strategic role in analyzing carrier costs and disputing/challenging Carrier/Vendor invoices (drives savings based on carrier invoice inaccuracies) Recovered savings has averaged $80k over the past two years (annual savings pays for 80% plus of this position cost)
Invoice analytics, trending, and auditing for accuracy and payment processing
Grid Services team lean/rely on escalation path/issue resolution from this work
Review/renew telecom contracts with a value of ~ $24M over contract terms
Assisting contract negotiations
P.O. Renewal, Creation, and Processing
Service Level Management
Ensure carriers and supporting vendors are meeting SLAís
Maintain and manage documentation archives related to carrier and supplier documentation
Provide telecommunication asset management, maintaining and updating NexTem database (site location, circuit idís, etc.)
Information analysis and building Excel models to create work efficiencies/improvements and/or assist in identifying and resolving issues
May also be assigned to work on specific projects as requested from Grid Services management
NUMBER OF OPENINGS 1
Education and Experience
Bachelorís Degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum five years of experience working in corporate environment and working with multiple and diverse work groups
Background in Telecommunications
Excel analytic skills
Thorough knowledge and experience of activities associated with the job responsibilities
Possesses five or more years of experience in the field of analysis
Experience working with carriers/telecom industry and external vendors overall
Solid experience working with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products (i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Visio, etc.); Better than average Excel skills a major plus
Experience working in SAP, Ariba, and Remedy a strong plus
