Title: Mechanical Field Technical Advisor

Position Type: Contract

Location: Peabody, MA

Reports to: Sr. Project Manager

Status: Non-Exempt


Job Summary: 

The Mechanical Field Technical Advisor will provide support and oversight during mechanical checkout for a 55 MW Aeroderivative Simple Cycle Combustion Engine that will be added to the existing facility located in Peabody, Massachusetts.  Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, the Mechanical Field Technical Advisor will work with the incoming product delivery team for mechanical field technical support, as well as have responsibility for inventory tracking for the project.  The Mechanical Field Technical Advisor will complete a comprehensive cross check against customer supplied manuals, ensuring a complete delivery of product. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain communication with assigned Sr. Project Manager.
Issue a daily site log in accordance with established standards provided by Company.
Submit a monthly report detailing all site activity for the previous month and technical analysis of the FT8 equipment.
Ensure timely submittal of all timesheets, expenses and reports as required.
Responsible for performing all field activity in accordance with established guidelines.
Responsible for providing operational and maintenance recommendations to the customer in accordance with established technical guidelines and must notify Customer of any actions which are not in accordance with established technical guidelines, so that immediate corrective action can be taken.
Immediately notify Company of any conditions which result in operation and maintenance of the equipment outside of established recommended guidelines.
Facilitate the single point on-site communication philosophy between the Owner and Company.
Coordinate all technical issues with the Sr. Project Manager.
Coordinate all spare part deliveries between Owner and the Company Spare Parts Manager or Spares Account Rep. This includes delivery assurance and tracking of parts.
Ensure the timely notification of spares parts required to replenish inventory within 24 hours.
Advise Company and Owner on areas where Service Bulletins and technical letters can improve product performance or improve reliability.
Provide a monthly review of all customer owned spare parts to ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained for reliable operations.
Highlight and provide feedback on all technical issues which can lead to product improvements.

Job Requirements:

Prior working experience with FT4000 preferably, or FT8 technology. 
Prior project construction and/or project start up
Must be proficient in MS Office programs
Must be extremely organized, and be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

Daily walking on site, including exposure to outdoor elements.
May be required to climb ladders periodically.
Required to use PPE for an active construction site, to include hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots.

Education / Experience:

5+ years previous Aeroderivative product, FT8 required.  FT4000 desirable.
Bachelor or Engineering Degree or 5+ years hands on work experience required.
Previous Gas Turbine Product Experience Required.
