The temporary Operator/Maintenance Technician will perform plant rounds, operate equipment under the direction of the lead operator. Complete preventative maintenance tasks, and small equipment repairs.

The OMT Electrical Technician assists in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a 400 megawatt (MW) natural gas - fired, simple cycle generating facility consisting of four GE LMS100 combustion turbine generators.

The OMT Electrical Technician ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
• Assist with operations of the equipment and monitor operational parameters, ensuring reliably and continuous operability of equipment
• Operate and maintain a wide variety of power plant equipment
• Develop a clear understanding of all plant processes and takes proper actions when problems are discovered
• Read meters, gauges, or monitors automatic devices to record data such as equipment operating temperatures, vibration, operating hours, pressure, and fluid levels to verify operating conditions
• Visually inspect and listen to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment by cleaning, adjusting, tightening, performing preventative or corrective maintenance, and identifying equipment in need of corrective maintenance. Write and submit corrective work orders
• Actively support the team members in the execution of maintenance plans by providing support (Lockout/Tagout), equipment identification, troubleshooting, work request preparation, or other areas as needed
• Act as point of contact for contractors when needed for larger work scope items
• Fully support and participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Complete other tasks as requested
