Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Industrial Field Machinist to join our team, specializing in providing on-site machining solutions for industrial equipment and components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on machining expertise, and the ability to work in diverse industrial settings. This role requires the flexibility to travel up to 75% of the time, ensuring that our clients receive timely and efficient machining services at their facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in machining, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2.Proven experience as a machinist, with a strong background in operating manual machining equipment.
3.Proficiency in setting up and using portable machining tools in various industrial environments.
4.Solid understanding of machining techniques, including turning, milling, grinding, and drilling.
5.Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to machining and industrial work.
6.Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, often with short notice, to provide on-site machining services to clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
•Travel to client sites as needed, often on short notice, to perform on-site machining and repair of industrial equipment and components.
•Set up and operate a variety of portable machining tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to perform precision machining tasks on-site.
•Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to assess machining requirements, develop solutions, and execute machining projects effectively.
•Safely rig and position equipment for machining operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
•Machine and fabricate components to tight tolerances, using various cutting, grinding, and finishing techniques.
•Diagnose equipment issues and provide technical recommendations to clients regarding the feasibility of on-site repairs versus replacement.
•Conduct thorough inspections of machinery and equipment, identifying areas for improvement and proposing machining solutions to enhance performance.
•Keep detailed records of machining operations, measurements, materials used, and project progress.
•Troubleshoot machining challenges and adapt strategies to address unexpected obstacles during on-site projects.
•Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working on client premises and operating machining tools.
•Maintain and calibrate machining equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
•Stay updated on emerging machining technologies and techniques, incorporating best practices into on-site operations.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
•Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing clear updates on project status and addressing any concerns.

1.Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 75 pounds or more as necessary with the correct support.
2.Travel requirements 50-75% including overnight travel outside of the region may be required.

Working Environment
Jobsite and shop work conditions include, but are not limited to:
•Position is based out of a branch or site location with job site visits required.
•Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
•Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
•Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
•Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as required by the safety director for personal protection.
