Summary:
We are seeking a proficient and adaptable Hot Tap/Line Stop Technician to join our team, specializing in performing hot tapping and line stopping operations for industrial pipeline systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of pipeline systems, equipment, and the ability to execute these critical procedures efficiently and safely. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, along with the flexibility to travel up to 75% of the time to various client locations for on-site operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in pipeline operations, welding, or a related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a hot tap technician or similar role, with expertise in performing hot tapping and line stopping operations.
3. Proficiency in setting up and using specialized hot tapping and line stopping equipment.
4. Solid understanding of pipeline systems, including materials, isolation methods, and equipment requirements.
5. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to pipeline work and industrial operations.
6. Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, often with short notice, to provide hot tap and line stop services to clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
•Travel to client sites, often at short notice, to perform hot tapping and line stopping operations on industrial pipeline systems.
•Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to assess project requirements, develop effective strategies, and execute hot tap and line stop procedures.
•Set up and operate specialized hot tapping and line stopping equipment, ensuring precise and controlled cutting, tapping, and plugging of pipelines.
•Safely rig and prepare the pipeline for hot tapping and line stopping operations, adhering to industry safety standards and protocols.
•Coordinate closely with project teams to determine appropriate isolation methods, pipe materials, and equipment for each project.
•Conduct thorough inspections of pipeline systems to identify potential challenges, corrosion, and other issues that may impact the success of hot tap and line stop operations.
•Perform calculations and measurements to ensure accurate placement of hot tap fittings and line stop equipment.
•Safely control the flow of fluids during hot tapping and line stopping procedures to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
•Keep detailed records of all hot tap and line stop activities, including measurements, materials used, equipment performance, and project progress.
•Troubleshoot and address unexpected challenges that may arise during the course of operations, adjusting procedures as needed.
•Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working on client premises and conducting hot tap and line stop operations.
•Maintain and calibrate specialized equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
•Stay updated on emerging technologies and techniques in hot tapping and line stopping, incorporating best practices into daily operations.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technicians, engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution.
•Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing clear updates on project status and addressing any concerns.

1.Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 75 pounds or more as necessary with the correct support.
2.Travel requirements 50-75% including overnight travel outside of the region may be required.

Working Environment
Jobsite and shop work conditions include, but are not limited to:
•Position is based out of a branch or site location with job site visits required.
•Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
•Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
•Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
•Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as required by the safety director for personal protection.
