Overview
We are looking for a Master Arborist to join our team and help our utility client with identifying and evaluating tree risks related to wildfire mitigation, quality, and safety program requirements.

Responsibilities
Conducting individual tree evaluations and tree risk assessments.
Evaluating project data, development site plans, and other project-related technical reports.
Collecting field data utilizing field computers, tablets, and global positioning system (GPS) units.
Processing and analyzing field-collected data.
Analyzing data and conducting project-related research.
Preparing arborist reports and other technical reports related to tree and urban forest management.
Developing written tree management recommendations.
Presenting findings to decision-making bodies, project teams, and industry groups.
Preparing proposals, project scopes, and budgets.
Working collaboratively with project planners, engineers, biologists, GIS staff, and other resource specialists.
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Qualifications
Certification as an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist with Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) required.
Bachelorís degree in forestry, natural resources, environmental science, or another related field.
A proven track record of business development success.
Additional desired qualifications include excellent writing skills, project management and client development experience, and experience with GIS, GPS, plant/tree identification, and arboricultural and vegetation management practices.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
Ability to identify and deal with hazardous and problem trees.
Records maintenance skills.
License and Certification

Possession of a valid California Class C driverís license at the time of application, preferrable. At hire required.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
The hourly range for this position is between $40.00 - $70.00 an hour. The starting rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
You will usually be work outside inspecting the trees.
This position may require considerable physical demands, manual dexterity with frequent exposure to arduous and disagreeable working conditions, including inclement weather.

Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Travel
This involves traveling to different sites based on varying client needs, or it involves a long term assignment at a specific client site.
