NSC Technologies is currently hiring SHIP FITTER for immediate work in PANAMA CITY FL. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of have 7 years’ experience.
DURATION: 6 MONTHS +
HOURS: 50 - 60 /hr work week
Must have 5 years of COMMERCIAL SHIP BUILDING EXPERIENCE!
MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
* cut and wash a bevel
* cut carbon plate using a torch ACCURATELY & PRODUCTIVELY
* READ & INTERPRET PRINTS and UNDERSTAND Ship terminology
* Read standard tape measurer.
* Tack weld using smaw or fcaw is a plus!
* Must be able to work at a HIGH PRODUCTIVE LEVEL 5 - 6 days a week
* MUST be able to work under strict supervision
Must demonstrate the ability to work well with peers
** If candidate passes test they will start the NEXT day. They will also receive test results on the same day they test
The below tools/items are the minimum required to start work at Eastern Shipbuilding for Shipfitter. You must have these tools/items to start the first day of work.
The Company will furnish you one pair of safety glasses and ear protection during your Employee Orientation. The wearing of dark safety glasses is not authorized without a current written prescription from your eye doctor. You must have a hard hat, ear protection, and leather boots a minimum 6 inches high, with steel toes. No exceptions. Failure to have the below tools/items will result in you being sent home the first day.
1. Hard hat
2. Leather boots a minimum 6' high, with steel toes
3. 6lb. hammer
4. Leather work gloves
5. 25' tape measure
6. 10' crescent wrench
7. Bevel Square
8. Chipping Hammer
9. 4' grinder without lock switch/pin
10. 2' level
11. Chalk line
12. Tip Cleaner
13. Framing square
14. Welding shield
15. Stinger/electrode holder
16. Tri-square or speed square
17. Center punch Cutting Shield
