Sirius Technical Services is seeking a Marine Scheduler in the South Eastern Louisiana area for a direct hire/permanent position.
Planner/Scheduler is actively monitoring the schedule and a key driver in remediation/improvement of the schedule. The Planner/Scheduler will produce weekly reporting to be progressed by the subcontractors (including engineering), the production managers and the project managers. The Planner/Scheduler will produce regular schedule updates of progress to the general manager, project manager, production managers, planning and the customer.
Works well individually, or as a team, within a functional matrix organization
Must have strong Primavera P6 skills & be able to apply general scheduling principles
Must have the ability to develop schedules from contract documents
Must have the ability to develop Milestone, through mid-level to detail schedules
Must have working knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Must have the ability to resource load the schedule based on estimate and or work orders
Must have strong MS Office Suite computer skills, specifically MS Excel.
Must have the ability to apply coding/identifiers to make the schedule a more functional document
Must have strong organizational and time management skills
Must analyze the schedule regularly and proactively develop recovery plan/acceleration through use of calendars, linking, and overtime.
Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities
Development of the project specific schedule, this could be multiple vessels.
Regular meetings/communication with the project/planning team to discuss schedule related issues/improvements and or changes.
Developing and gathering information to provide regular updates to the schedule, for the customer per the contract requirements and for the shipyard as needed.
Develop resource loading of the tasks to produce manpower requirements.
Base line and critical Path analysis and development of schedule metrics to track performance to schedule.
Regularly review the schedule critical path, performance to baseline and be the key driver in resolving scheduling issues and be proactive in developing resolutions.
Support of the estimating group with schedule requirements to support bid packages. Development of the bid schedule pre the requirements of the RFP.
Primavera P6 skills preferred, MS Project skills acceptable
Experience working on 25-150 Million dollars per vessel projects a plus.
Education & Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a scheduler on major construction projects, preferably in the ship building industry.
