TRC is currently looking for a SCADA Engineer for a full time position.
Provide professional SCADA and Control System engineering services associated with electric power and distribution network. Develop, deploy and maintain a SCADA system including designing hardware and software functional specifications for automated processes. After the specifications are designed, providing test support for the system to ensure functionality and monitor systems to quickly address problems or adjust automated processes.
Essential Requirements for the Position:
Knowledge of SCADA and control systems and components used for the generation and distribution of power.
Responsible for programming, installing, integrating, testing and troubleshooting power system SCADA/RTU/DCS/Control-Systems
Design, document, implement and maintain essential SCADA and control systems and components for electric power and distribution networks.
Provide appropriate and timely technical advice on matters relating to SCADA and control systems.
Specify and design communication networks including data security and availability; develop basic specifications for fiber optic, microwave, power line carrier, or radio communication paths; travel to project sites to troubleshoot and commission network and communication systems.
Able to read and understand construction and manufacturer's drawings and specifications.
Able to read and understand schematic diagrams.
Ability to utilize a relay test set to prove protective device settings. Familiarity with Doble Protest, SEL AcSELerator, and ENOSERVE RTS a plus.
Able to operate computers and associated programs at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position.
Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner, using sound judgment.
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position.
U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status required.
Valid drivers license issued by state of residence and in good standing is required.
Education and/or Experience:
Prefer associate degree in industrial electrical, instrument and control, or electronics field and prefer three years of increasingly responsible SCADA engineering related experience. Prior startup/commissioning experience preferred, must be willing to travel and work in the field.
While performing the duties of the job, this employee will regularly be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to one hundred pounds. While performing the duties this employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms. Lift or pull heavy cables and equipment weighing more than 50 pounds, the ability to work at ground level, and in trenches or manholes. Special vision requirement are close, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
