Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Contract


• Directing field resources for routine work or reviewing outage information and dispatching and directing field resources in restoration efforts associated with small to medium outages (i.e. outages below the feeder level) and ensuring accurate outage information is captured.
• This position reports to the DCC Operations Supervisor with the responsibility to load, monitor and adjust service work assignments for execution by field service personnel throughout Duke.
• This position utilizes the mobileLink system to monitor and route work requests thus maintain resources assignments as required and monitors system radio channels and responds via radio and/or telephone to requests by field personnel for additional information.
• Analyzes and takes appropriate action on pending and future dated work requests for dispatch to field resources, actively intervenes to identify scheduling opportunities to meet customer expectations and match resources to work load.
• Collaborates with the C&M work group to effectively manage service work load daily.
• Utilizes the Customer Information Management System (CIM) to create work requests for field personnel, reschedule work, update comments, and monitor queues to support the service delivery process and includes identification of performance errors and process improvement opportunities to support service delivery expectations.
• Effectively utilizes technology and personnel resources by effective communication to ensure work requests are dispatched and completed in a timely manner.
• Will use various Duke Energy Outage apps (OMS, SCORP) to dispatch low customer count outages.

• Good written and verbal communications skills, ability to work and converse with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds in a professional manner using good customer service skills.
• Demonstrated computer and technical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications
• Up to 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade, technical school or college.
• Any experience on Distribution Outage Management System (by Oracle) is a plus.
• 1-2 years’ experience in factory electric maintenance, electric construction, aircraft maintenance, or experience drafting electric diagrams and schematic. OR candidates with a 2-year electric or electronics technology degree.
• With the degree, no prior experience would be required.
