System One has a 6 month contract opportunity for a SmartPlant SPEL Administrator to support our clients engineering office in Houston. The SmartPlant SPEL Administrator will work on tough projects making a huge impact on the nation.
Must have demonstrated track record of successful Implementations with large scale Federal or heavy industrial/oil and gas projects experience. This position supports our client’s Federal Business Unit. Previous Federal and International Project Experience highly preferred.

SmartPlant SPEL Administrator will be responsible for all aspects SPEL application implementation and support to include but not limited to:
- Implementation
- User Support
- Database Management
- Discipline Interface
- Project Interface
- Engineering Application Lead Interface
- Training
- Documentation

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• 4-year degree in engineering-related discipline required - Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 15 + years of progressive experience working with engineering-related software and/or engineering IT technologies.
• SmartPlant SPEL experience and expertise required as SPEL Administrator on a large Federal or EPC project required from implementation to delivery.
• Oil and Gas experience highly preferred

• ETAP Experience a Plus
• SKM Experience a Plus
• Microsoft Access, Oracle, SQL Visual Basic (including the ability to program)
• AutoCAD
• SmartSketch
• Strong Communication Skills both Written and Verbal Required.
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Team Leader
• High Support Drive


SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• Seasoned expert with 2D/3D CAD, BIM and GIS and how these systems relate to Client’s requirements
• Working knowledge of software licensing models and requirements
• A thorough understanding of applicable database and project software applications and technology.
• Strong technical understanding of the infrastructure required for engineering systems such as servers, advanced 2D/3D work stations, networks and associated systems
• A broad understanding of the strategic impacts of enterprise initiatives that support engineering systems and architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and diverse team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Written and oral communication skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak with authority on technical issues in various professional settings and to persuade listeners regarding best approach to resolving user's problem (may include communication via telephone, in person, presenting to large groups, community events).
• Ability to write complex documents (may include policies and procedures and presentations). Communicates with a wide variety of individuals (employees and all levels of management) throughout the organization and outside of the organization (i.e. Clients, vendors).
• Strong team leadership and management skills
• Ability to work independently and take the initiative in identifying and resolving issues; resourcefulness in finding practical solutions.
