Product Quality Inspector

6 month contract

Location: Clinton, TN

Mechanical Experience
or Machinist experience.
Have a full understanding of design drawings and to apply that knowledge to validate machined parts.
Be able to read and understand assembly design drawings.
Have a basic understanding how mechanical assemblies work and guidelines for function testing, troubleshooting, etc.
Be able to use various measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, depth gages etc.
Experience in CAD and CMM programming is a plus, but not required.
Electrical Experience

Have a full understanding of assembly design drawings for cables and wire harnesses, or schematics and apply those skills to validate and / or troubleshoot product failures.
Electronics board experience is a plus, but not required.
Soldering experience is a plus, or at least be able to understand the variations and quality of solder joints.

Computer / People Skills

Have a basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and other functions of Microsoft Office.
Be able to communicate problems to suppliers, engineers, and management to resolve non-conformances found during receiving inspection process.
Skills needed and listed in order of importance:

1. Dimensional Receiving Inspection of machined parts

2. Soldering and Electrical Assembly Inspection

3. Board Assembly Inspection with capabilities of some repair work

4. Mechanical Assembly Inspection

Position Profile

Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. Inspect for proper

identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers and CMM w/ software. Visually

inspect for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. Verifiy specifications using purchase

orders, blueprints, drawings or inspection instructions, and checklists. Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods. Maintain

records of results. Inspections may involve compound angles or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as

microscopes, micrometers, telescope gauges, and optical comparators. Perform inspection on electrical cables and components.

•AS Degree in Engineering field (required)

•Direct experience in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies

•Knowledge of industry Quality Management System standards to include ISO 9001:2015 standards

•Data and statistical analysis capabilities

•Minimum of 3 years of related experience

•Formally Trained in Geometric Dimensioning

•Formally Trained in Electronics
