Responsible for ensuring compliance with the mandates of pertinent environmental regulations associated with electric transmission line construction projects. Implements, supports, and coordinates environmental permitting and compliance activities for line of business. Will be responsible for providing estimates for the environmental engineering and implementation associated with capital projects. Ensures compliance with permits and Storm water Pollution Prevention Plans during construction. Coordinates/assists with required environmental inspections during construction and post-construction permit close-out. Oversees consultants that are responsible for obtaining permits/authorizations for construction projects within.
LKE service territory (Indiana, Kentucky and Virginia) including the following:
• KPDES General Permit (Construction)
• Indiana Rule 5 Compliance
• Virginia Annual Standards & Specifications
• KDOW Stream Construction Permit
• KDOW Water Quality Certification Permit
• Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit
• Local Municipalities Erosion Prevention/Sediment Control Ordinances
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, applied science, engineering, construction management, or related technical discipline required.
5+ years increasingly responsible professional environmental regulatory and/or technical experience.
Able to work within limited time restraints and strict deadlines.
Able to perform duties without immediate supervision.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Well organized and detail-oriented with ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to be self-directed and proactive in work activities.
Overnight travel will be required.
