Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 10 years' experience with construction management in the electric power industry.
Individual shall have demonstrated skill in construction project management.
High level of knowledge about distribution.
Some duties include:
Manage site safety including performance of safety audits, Provide constructability feedback during design and walk down, Provide scheduling input, Review/Manage Scope Change requests, Assist with managing material availability, Manage adherence to Client prints, standards.
At least 10 years of construction manager experience, Experience with Word and Excel, Knowledge of OSHA safety policies (helpful), Knowledge of Client safety policies, Electrical utility experience (highly desired).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Manage transmission, substation, and distribution projects consisting of cross-functional teams involving multiple engineering disciplines and multiple construction areas including contract resources.
Responsible for managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance of multiple construction projects and programs. Leads project teams through business case / capital approval process, development and execution of project plans and project closeout. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $250k to $10 million.
Also, may manage non-construction projects with direct accountability to project execution while leading a team to accomplish objections within a given time frame and with limited resources.
Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning for clent’s overall EV Charging Network which includes client’'s EVsmart network and all 3rd Party Vendors interconnecting EV Chargers to client’s's grid. Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other operational and financial analysis.
Develop and interpret statistical data to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials for business operations.
Develop, track, maintain, analyze, and report metrics regarding all departments that participate in the process of interconnecting EV Chargers to client's grid.
Prepare and analyze comprehensive reporting for project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits.
Responsible and accountable for overall project performance for projects including major substation, transmission, and distribution construction, new technology programs, information technology and organizational initiatives.
Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.
Primary communicator with the sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level and interdepartmental presentations.
Ensures a good working relationship between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations.
Coaches and leads team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
Identify and obtain project team resources.
