[Construction Planner] Electrical Solutions Advisor

Job Summary:
Position is focused on expanding PPM’s specialty construction services outside of the core long-term customers. This position works independently and with others in the sales and operations team to identify opportunities to grow the specialty construction services. Effective use of sales tools, technology and processes will be used regularly, including regular interaction with the team for ongoing information sharing, goal setting, analysis, industry education and role development. This position is at the forefront of representing the company, culture, and brand in a professional customer focused role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• This position is responsible and accountable for the growth and development of the specialty electrical services group throughout the footprint of the company as identified by senior leadership.
• Prospects, research, and interacts as required, on the phone, in person, and other means to both new and existing customers.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to perform take offs and estimations.
• Develop highly detailed estimates, in collaboration with the construction team, based on customer specifications to cover all aspects of the required scope of work.
• Develop and provide accurate proposals, detailing scope of work, materials, schedules/timelines, and other items that are required by the customer.
• Initially assists with lay out of project schedules to meet scope and construction schedules.
• Works with procurement to ensure that materials, tools, and equipment requirements are communicated to meet construction schedules.
• Assists with initial coordination of other trades that may be involved in projects.
• Enter and track proposal activity in (ISM) software platform.
• Follow up with any open proposal opportunities as necessary.
• Assist construction services manager and project management with initiating, tracking, and documenting change orders as necessary.
• Upon successful award of project, initially works to assist with planning, contract administration, project activities, and developing or maintaining client relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the sales process, and long-term customer development. Understands the concept of what “the Customer Experience” is and works to exceed expectations.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of various electrical systems from 480v through 765kV; including generation, transmission and distribution theory, uninterruptable power supplies, renewable, and emerging energies.
• Ability to develop personal sales plans with the assistance of management to successfully meet sales objectives.
• Knowledge, ability, and skill that includes professional technical sales to all levels of customers from unknowledgeable to experts in the electrical field.
• Possess a desire to continue to learn and grow in the energy sector and adapt to emerging customer needs as necessary.
• Strong organizational, communications, presentation, and problem-solving skills are a must.

• Ability to listen to understand the customer, analyze customer needs, and develop a solution independently or with the assistance of others that meets or exceeds their needs.
• Ability to effectively respond to customer needs and concerns.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, plan their personal work, review their accomplishments, successes, deficiencies, adjust as necessary, and meet customer goals, personal goals, and deadlines.

• Must have intermediate level computer understanding and skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic business systems.
• Communicates effectively, in writing and verbally, with customers, peers, and management.

Work Environment:
• Must be willing to relocate within 60 miles of Premier Power Maintenance’s office in Indianapolis, IN.
• Work in close, but safe, proximity to live electrical substations.
• Blend of office work with Construction Services Manager, remote work, and customer visits is expected.
• Some, but minimal, overnight travel will be required.
• Must be willing to take calls and travel outside the scope of normal business hours.

Education and Work Experience:
• Requires a High School Diploma or GED, Military experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical construction services.
• Prefer successful electrical service sales experience with history of technical service and knowledge of the electrical industry.
• At least 3 years of sales experience in electrical industrial; construction, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and/or repair.

Other Requirements:
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, education verification, and motor vehicle report.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to obtain a company paid TWIC card, OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, and CPR training.
